Biography
L/Bdr Morris Green (1915 Pretoria, South Africa - 21/11/1941 Up North) service number: 26269, South African Artillery 3 Field Regt., was the son of Abe and Menucha Green (nee Bludin) (1887-1917) and brother of Abraham Green of 72 Rockey Street Observatory Johannesburg. He died of wounds sustained in battle 'Up North'.
His death was reported in The Jewish Chronicle, London, February 13 1942 -Killed in action : L/Bdr. Morris Green (Johannesburg). He is commemorated on the Alamein Memorial, Egypt, Column 113, at the National Jewish War Memorial, West Park Cemetery, Johannesburg and at the South African National Museum of Military History, Johannesburg.
